We worked with Kate Jackson Architects to realise their client’s dream of restoring this historical home in Beaconsfield into a versatile family home. The house needed to be extended and refurbished to evolve with the family, accommodating the children as they grow up from babies to young adults, as well as the comings and goings of further family, friends and live-in help along the way. Cohesion across both time and space were essential in achieving this brief.

We maximised the size of the house (within planning) with a rear extension, a first floor and roof extension, an annex building, a garden studio, a pool room, and a portico to connect the annex to the main house. High quality materials and artfully executed joinery give the modern additions a clean, contemporary feel yet remains in tune with the home’s original character. Considered contrasts – such as the striking main stair – celebrate the overall quality of craftsmanship.
